The **Temperature Control Ring of the Process** is a high-precision ceramic temperature indicator that records the actual heat treatment received by the fired product.
The types of rings are identified by a color code and by batch and type numbers printed on the ring.
The boxes contain 15 rings.
When exposed to heat in the kiln, the ring contracts and continues to shrink as the higher temperature is maintained over time.
The amount of shrinkage (the reduction in the rings diameter) is measured using a numerical or digital micrometer (precision caliper of 0.01 mm).
This measurement is referenced in the table supplied with the ring set, and each measurement corresponds to an associated temperature.
